Welcome to Newcastle East mixed multi Academy Trust

Newcastle East mixed multi Academy Trust (NEAT) is an exciting, unique partnership of five schools based in the east end of Newcastle. Currently there are four primaries and one secondary school within our Trust, which provides a fantastic opportunity for true collaboration and seamless transition.

NEAT is a mixed Trust because we are a partnership of community and faith schools.  We are very proud of the values and distinctiveness of each of our schools.  While the values of the individual schools that form the Trust may be rooted in different traditions, we believe that the values themselves have a common purpose.

Our Trust has a strong local focus, which means that we truly understand the issues and challenges facing our parents and children.  This allows us to develop and share really effective strategies to support the education of children within this community. It also means that we are more easily able to share resources and best practice between our schools.
A message from Mrs Debi Bailey - CEO

It is a privilege to take up the position of Chief Executive Officer for Newcastle East mixed multi Academy Trust.  I am really excited at the prospect of working with such a fantastic group of: schools, staff and families,  as we continue our journey to being the best we can be.

I believe passionately that education opens doors. Having worked in the East End of Newcastle for 17 years in a range of roles including: class teacher, Assistant Head, Deputy Head and then Head teacher of Walkergate Community School, I know the community very well.
At the heart of NEAT is an absolute belief that partnerships make the difference. All of our schools put family working at the centre of everything we do. To that end, we have a dedicated welfare team who work with our families to overcome any barriers. Our schools have developed very effective partnerships across our local community and this enables us to support even our most vulnerable families.

Teaching and  learning is integral to our work. We have invested a significant amount of time identifying, developing and sharing best practice and our MAT improvement plan is built on this principle. Furthermore, as one of our schools is a  local secondary school,  we feel we have a real opportunity to ensure seamless transition as we support our learners from cradle to career.

Across our five schools, we have 3 additionally resourced provisions. This enables us to offer specialist support for learners with a range of more complex needs. We are also able to share best practice across all of our schools helping to ensure we are able to meet the needs of all learners in a fully inclusive way.

We will work tirelessly to ensure we make a difference to the lives of all of our families and believe that this can only be achieved by working in partnership.
