NEAT Academy Trust is a thriving and collaborative partnership of five schools based in the east end of Newcastle upon Tyne.  Currently there are four primaries and one secondary school within our trust, working together to provide a first-class education for all our learners.

Each school has its own distinctive ethos and the trust protects our non-faith and Church of England schools to retain their particular designation.  We are firmly rooted in our local communities, which enables us to develop and share effective strategies to ensure our children receive a first-class education and to improve their life chances with the support of their families.

Within our trust we have a Teaching School and Newcastle Research School is one of only 30 schools in the country to receive this designation from the Education Endowment Foundation.

NEAT is a great place to be - whether you're a learner, a colleague or a governor/trustee - so we hope you enjoy finding out more about our trust and our shared purpose to Nurture - Educate - Achieve - Transform.
A message from Debi Bailey, NEAT Chief Executive Officer

I believe passionately that education opens doors and enables a better future for our children and young people.   As a trust with both primary and secondary schools, we have a real opportunity to ensure seamless transition as we offer an all-through education from cradle to career.

Teaching and learning and evidence-based practice is integral to our work and we have invested in developing a NEAT curriculum, which gives our learners a range of experiences - as well as a first-class education - to prepare them for the next stage of their lives.   With Newcastle Research School within our trust, we are able to access and generate research that informs our thinking and we work proactively with schools across the north-east region to share this.

At the heart of NEAT is an absolute belief that partnerships make the difference and we engage proactively with a wide range of external partners: locally, regionally and nationally. All of our schools put family working at the centre of everything we do and we have a dedicated welfare team who work with our families to overcome any barriers. Our schools have developed very effective partnerships across our local community and this enables us to support all learners including our most vulnerable families.

As Nelson Mandela said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”. We believe that starts with a passion and a commitment to making a difference.
