Public consultation on changes to admissions arrangements for 2020-21
The trust is consulting on a proposal to change the admissions arrangements for all its schools for admissions into the 2020-21 school year.  This affects Benfield School, Central Walker Church of England Primary School, Tyneview Primary School, Walkergate Community School and West Walker Primary School.
Consultation starts: Monday 5 November 2018
Consultation ends: Sunday 16 December 2018
Anyone can make comments on the proposal, which must be received by the NEAT registered office by the above date. Please find below:
  • a letter explaining the proposal
  • the proposed admissions policy for primary schools
  • the proposed admissions policy for secondary i.e. Benfield School
  • a consultation response form which includes details of how to submit your comments.
The trust is consulting with the local authority, early years and childcare providers in the local area, all Newcastle schools, parents of children attending NEAT schools and other parents in the local area.
We published a public notice in the Newcastle Journal (print and web) to make sure that the consultation is in the public domain.
The trust's Board of Directors will consider the outcome of the consultation at its meeting on 19 December 2018 and will decide, having taken consultation responses into account, whether to approve the proposed admission arrangements.  We will publish the outcome of the consultation and the Board's decision in due course.
