Charles Turvill

Chief Operating and Financial Officer

Charles has worked in a senior leadership role in schools since 2010, being responsible for all aspects of financial, risk and estate management and a wide range of support services. Prior to this he worked in the private sector, being finance director for a venture capital backed publishing group, as well as setting up and running a business services company.
He has been an Associate Practitioner for the National Association of School Business Management and is a vice chair of governors at two primary schools. He has successfully completed the School Business Director programme with the National College for Teaching and Leadership and CIPFA’s financial reporting for academies programme.
Outside of work he enjoys walking his dogs in the beautiful north east countryside.

Lisa Bilton

Director of Business Services

Lisa's role is to lead on Business Services, which includes supporting the primary schools within the trust with day-to-day activities to maximise efficiency. She is also responsible for IT, procurement, some areas of finance, health and safety and premises management for the trust and is a member of the Safeguarding Strategic Leads Group.
Lisa joined one of the NEAT academies in 2009 as a Business Manager before being seconded to the NEAT Central Team on a part-time basis to manage the set-up of the trust. She has worked full-time in her current role since September 2018.
Lisa has worked in the education sector and local government for over 20 years, particularly in accountancy and finance. She studied for Chartered Institute of Management Accountants qualifications at Northumbria University, as well as holding qualifications in Business Studies and School Business Management. Lisa has supported schools in Newcastle to improve their business functions for several years as well as gaining experience as a governor for two primary schools.
When not in work, Lisa enjoys travelling to new places as well as being an amateur photographer.

Suzanne Hendey

Director of Governance/Clerk to the Directors

Suzanne's role is to lead on corporate governance, information governance, stakeholder engagement/ communication and equality, diversity and inclusion for the trust. She works closely with the Board of Directors and clerks the board and its committee meetings, as well as being the trust's Company Secretary.
Suzanne joined NEAT in May 2017 having worked in education for over 20 years in HR roles working with schools/academies and as a School Business Manager for a federation of three schools. She is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, as well as holding a Business Studies degree, a Post Graduate Diploma in Equal Opportunities and a Diploma in School Business Management.
Suzanne has achieved the Level 3 Certificate in Clerking of School and Academy Governing Boards with the National Governance Association. She is also a member of the NGA's Community MATs Governance Network.
Her main passions outside of work are seeing live music and going to the cinema.

Hannah Hales

Governance Support Advisor/Clerk to the Local Governing Committees

Reporting to the Director of HR and Governance, Hannah joined the NEAT Central Team on a full-time basis in September 2018. She advises all schools on governance and acts as Clerk to the Local Governing Committees. She also supports information governance across the trust working with the trust's external Data Protection Officer.
Prior to joining NEAT, Hannah was employed as a Trust Officer for a foundation trust of schools within Newcastle and has worked in administrative roles in several primary schools. Hannah holds a Certificate in School Business Management, is a Certified Practitioner in the EU General Data Protection Regulations, and has completed the Level 3 Certificate in Clerking of School and Academy Governing Boards with the National Governance Association.

Keeley Finlay

HR Manager

Keeley joined the team in January 2019 to set up and lead an in-house HR service across the trust. Her role enables us to deliver our strategic plan through recruitment, retention and engagement of colleagues who make a positive impact on our pupils. She works closely with our headteachers and managers to help drive school and service improvement through effective and professional HR advice and support.
Keeley has over ten years’ experience in a number of HR roles, across various sectors. She is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, as well as holding a Masters in Human Resource Management and Development and a degree in Psychology. She is a member of the Local Government Association's Multi Academy Trust Heads of HR Northern Group.
Outside of work Keeley enjoys spending her time on outdoor adventures with her two children.

Shellena Hussain

HR Business Partner

Shellena joined the team in March 2020 as HR Business Partner. She has over 9 years' experience providing HR advice and support to schools/academies and holds a Masters in Human Resource Management. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family and keeping fit.

Fiona Scott

Finance Officer

Fiona joined the team as Finance Officer in January 2018 from one of our schools and plays a key role in ensuring the trust's finances are properly administered including helping schools with any finance queries and with our finance system.
She is an experienced admin and finance officer and has over 15 years of experience in the banking sector and more recently in a busy school office with financial responsibilities.

Hana Williamson

Admin Assistant (maternity cover)

Hana joined the team on a temporary basis in November 2019 to cover Nicola's maternity leave. With a degree in Performance for Live and Recorded Media from Teesside University, she has previously worked as a full-time sports broadcaster. Hana also has experience in working with children and within a school setting, and has gained key administrative skills through her previous job roles as well as expertise in social media management. Outside of work, Hana enjoys live theatre, music, figure skating and walking her dog.

Nicola Robinson

Admin Assistant (maternity leave)

Nicola joined NEAT in August 2018 having previously worked in a similar administrative role for a charity. With a degree in Business Studies from Northumbria University, Nicola has the key skills necessary to keep the Central Team running smoothly. She manages the trust calendar, prepares our weekly e-bulletin to schools, supports the organisation and administration of a wide range of events and provides a reception service for everyone who contacts the trust.
