We are delighted to welcome Carol Davison to the NEAT Central Team as the trust’s Lead for Secondary School Improvement.  Carol joins us from her recent headship at St Cuthbert’s High School in Newcastle, which under her leadership achieved an ‘Outstanding’ judgement from Ofsted and was awarded teaching school status.

With a solid track record of nearly 30 years’ experience in schools working in three different local authorities, Carol is also a National Leader of Education (NLE) and has recently supported schools through the Opportunity North East ONE Vision programme.  You can read more in her staff profile.

Debi Bailey, NEAT CEO, “I’m delighted that we have been able to secure someone of Carol’s calibre and experience to strengthen our school improvement capacity as a trust as we look to grow.  She will provide support to our current secondary school and create the systems and processes we need to develop as we prepare to bring other secondary schools into the trust over time.

Carol is also looking forward to her new role within NEAT, “I see an effective education as one that offers cultural capital and opportunities for social mobility by raising aspirations to allow all young people to be the best version of themselves.  I’ve worked in many schools where communities face challenging circumstances and I have a well honed understanding of the barriers that need to be overcome to achieve this.  My focus will be on supporting our schools to provide a curriculum that meets the needs of all learners and building outstanding teams of teachers and leaders.”
