National Teaching Assistants’ Day 2024
At NEAT Academy Trust, we are incredibly proud of the fantastic work our staff do every day. On National Teaching Assistants’ Day 2024, we wanted to take the opportunity to shine the spotlight on our non-teaching colleagues, whose dedication and hard work make a real difference in the lives of our young people.
Across all of our schools and services, we celebrated the fantastic contributions of teaching assistants and other non-teaching staff. From providing crucial classroom support to building strong, positive relationships with students, they play a key role in making our schools special places to learn and grow.
A Day of Thanks Across the Trust
To mark the day, staff across our Trust came together in different ways to celebrate and say thank you. Here’s a glimpse of how some of our schools showed their appreciation:
– St Hild’s CoE School: Staff gathered to reflect on the importance of their non-teaching colleagues, describing them as “angels” and “the cog to the wheel,” highlighting how essential they are to the school’s success.
– Central Walker CoE School: The team enjoyed tea and cake as a small gesture of gratitude to their hard-working non-teaching staff.
-Tyneview Primary School: To recognise their contributions on this special day, each colleague received a “Boost” bar as a thoughtful pick-me-up.
– Walkergate Community School: Doughnuts were shared in the staff room as a sweet token of appreciation for all the valuable work done by non-teaching staff.
– Whitehouse Primary School: Teaching assistants were treated with flowers and chocolates, a heartfelt way of saying thank you for all their hard work.
– West Walker Primary School: The team came together to celebrate their non-teaching staff, recognising the difference they make every day.
– At the Trust’s central office, the team also celebrated with home-baked treats during Macmillan Coffee Morning, and anonymous notes of thanks were shared among colleagues.
– Newcastle PE and School Sport Service: The team has planned an Escape Room evening later this month, which will be a chance to relax and catch up in a space outside of work.
Making a Difference Every Day
Our non-teaching staff are true role models for our students. They help to create a positive and supportive environment where our young people feel valued and inspired. Their dedication does not go unnoticed, and it’s clear that they are an essential part of the NEAT family.
From all of us at NEAT Academy Trust, thank you for the fantastic work you do every day. Your contribution to the education and well-being of our students is invaluable, and we are so proud to celebrate you not just on this day but every day.
Let’s continue to support, inspire, and make a difference together.

Here are some of our Non-Teaching Colleagues across the Trust and what some of our schools did to celebrate the day!
St Hild’s colleagues discussed in staff circles what they appreciate about non-teaching staff in school. Some of the answers were: “Non-teaching staff are angels,” “They are the cog to the wheel,” and “They are highly valuable members of staff.”
